While Alice was racing on the Thameside circuit and Anna was riding a 2-up with Dave, Charlotte, Lydia, Jo, Louise, Helen, Sam, and Toby rode to Brighton. This is no small feat given that five of us had race at Hog Hill on Saturday, and Lyds had bagged second in the women’s race!
Jo’s Kevin kept us company for the first quarter and then headed for home. The rest of the party made it all the way to the sea, despite the demands of Ditchling Beacon.
By the time we reached the seafront the sun had come out and the water was glittering.
We paused for lunch and while four of us decided to take the sensible route home and made our way to the station, Toby, Sam and Louise bravely rode home, each covering 200km in the process.
